LAN (Local Area Network)
LAN - Local Area Network, the connectivity of devices in a building or in a campus environment to allow access to central servers and applications.
The main technologies in Local Area Networking have been FDDI, Token Ring and Ethernet. Essentially they are all different methods of passing data across the network, but Ethernet has become, over the years, the most widely adopted.
