Secure Networks

Cloud

The “cloud” is a simplified way of referring to the large and complex interior of carriers’ networks.

Often appearing on network diagrams, the cloud is used to differentiate point-to-point circuits (such as KiloStream) from non point-to-point circuits (ISDN, MPLS, etc), by showing the non point-to-point circuits “disappearing” into the cloud between one site and another

These non point-to-point circuits are essentially managed by the carrier, in that the customer’s data may travel an unspecified route through the network but to the end user the difference is transparent.

IPI provide secure networks across the globe. If you would like to learn more about IPI Wide Area Networking products and services, please click here.
