Different applications behave in different ways, particularly over Wide Area Networks, Web based applications, text based Windows, UNIX, voice etc. It is important to examine each application, its behaviour over the network and its bandwidth requirements before designing any solution.
Additionally, each application has particular features such as degrees of importance, business criticality or specific user requirements. Any network therefore has to be designed to accommodate these differences to ensure predictable delivery for each and every one of these requirements.
